Welcome.

My name is Alex. I am an LA-based writer and musician. I make sourdough bagels and other food by mornings; by afternoons, I read and write crime fiction. I am a baseball addict / Washington Nationals diehard. I travel as much as schedule and money allow.

I call this site Slow Burning because it is a style of story I love most, but I think its an apt metaphor for many things. Incremental progress, consistent daily discipline — these are how I’ve learned whatever skills I’ve acquired, and they’re how I want to live my life. Never stop learning. Never stop practicing.

I will post my fiction here. I may even serialize my novel-in-progress here. I post travel writing, I’ll post about food and music and just about anything. I’m not sure!
